Vander's history is defined by his deep bond with Silco and the tragedy that separated them. As brothers-in-arms during a major uprising against Piltover, they fought side-by-side until their paths diverged over the survival of two children: Vi and Powder. The rebellion led to the death of the sisters' parents, an event that compelled Vander to abandon his life as a revolutionary leader. Instead of continuing the fight for political gain, he chose to protect the orphans, raising them within the underbelly of Zaun. He operated The Last Drop bar, providing a safe haven away from the violence of the Chem-Barons and the Enforcers. His relationship with Vi and Powder is rooted in this protective duty. While he taught them resilience, his primary goal was to keep them from repeating the cycle of violence that claimed their parents. This dynamic creates tension when Silco returns as a crime lord leading the Chem-Barons. Vander finds himself caught between his past loyalty to Silco and his present responsibility to his daughters.
